Today's "Pass it on."

You are responsible for your own protection
I don't know why the Zogby Poll result showing Most Americans Can Name Three Stooges, But Not Three Branches of Gov't caused any comment at all this week. Jay Leno has been demonstrating this sort of thing for ages.  Anyway, if folks don't know that John Roberts is Chief Justice, they sure as hell don't know this.

"Mr. Derby is an English teacher, so perhaps he can be forgiven for not knowing that the U.S. government has said our individual security and safety is not guaranteed by the law enforcement in this country. There are several Supreme Court decisions that hold citizens have no constitutional guarantee of protection by police (South v. Maryland and Castle Rock v. Gonzalez come immediately to mind), and many more decisions have been made at lower levels (in the case of Warren v. District of Columbia, for example, the D.C. Court of Appeals ruled that “a government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen.”). Despite what Mr. Derby says, we are responsible for our individual safety. The law enforcement community performs a valuable service each and every day, but any cop will tell you that they can’t be your personal bodyguard." Cam Edwards, An end to the 2nd Amendment?

Just typical. Liberals don't believe in personal responsibility for anything else in their life -- why should they take responsibility for their own safety?

It's much easier to let the 'gummint' take care of them.

It's much easier for Libs to put their heads up, er,uh,...in the sand, than to have to consider the reality of independence. And yes, they do prefer dependence, if it gives them more power over our freedoms. Hell, I believe they'd reinstate salvery if they could pull it off. But, they're chipping away at it all the long.

Thing is, even -- especially -- the dumbest donkey has watched dozens of TV cop shows which include the line "We can't do anything until he breaks the law." They just never think about what that means.

In the thirteen years i worked helping to bring to justice predators that violate our laws I have met people that really believe that law enforcement officers could protect them. All we can do is attempt to bring to justice those that do murder you after the fact.As I told a man once that had been threatened " A man that fails to take the steps to protect himself and his family has failed his responsibility. This man that wants to do away with our right to own the very equipment that is needed to protect our self cannot deal with the truth I have seen men like him before I would wager that the very thought of touching a gun frightens him more so than those that would take his life.He wants to take away your scary gun so he does not have to worry about it.He would prefer you and I and our famlies go unprotected and be victims because of his fear.
