Ann Richards is dead

Tap tap tap
"Poor George. He can't help it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth."
Ka-Boom
Ann Richards is dead. That sentence, sneeringly delivered by her at the 1988 Democratic National Convention, was - for the time - shockingly uncivil.  It received huge applause. Standard fare for Democrats since then.   It was at that very instant when I invented the ''armchair nukem button.'' With a tap of my finger I was able to blow her, and every Democrat in the Atlanta Omni Center to Kingdom Come.  I didn't do that lightly, because  in a philosophical sense thoughts are actions. Can't live without it now.  Ann Richards unlocked a lot of doors that day.

One of my happier moments is when George Bush came from far behind to knock Ann Richards out of office. It is one of the reasons the left hates George Bush.

I too savored that moment.

It's really tough watching the news in Houston last night and today if you're not an Ann fan. Glad I have a DVR with a 30 second skip button. But I'm getting skip button thumb.

And I agree with Jake.

In all the years I have followed politics I can never remember such vile hatred as has been heaped upon George W Bush simply because he has defeated the democraps at every turn in every election. To there diseased minds it is not fair that he won because of the constitutional process. The democraps are just like the hate filled Taliban or the ayatollahs in this regard. No different.

That line provided the whiskied up old bat with her 15 minutes.
