Blah-blah-blah ... Presidential polls two years out make me want to break things, but it's all part of the game.  Pin this to your refrigerator door, and see if I haven't nailed the 2008  media election drama.  The Iowa poll shows:  (Giuliani beats Clinton 56-37; Edwards, 51-43; and Kerry, 53-40. McCain defeats Clinton 54-37; Edwards, 47-46; and Kerry, 53-39.)  Forget McCain, because he cannot possibly be nominated, so for illustrative purposes I'll use  Giuliani as the Republican candidate against Hillary.  Remember though, this is a generic script for 'Democrat v. Republican.'  It's been used in every election since 1976.
