Saturday I was on the deck when I heard what sounded like one hell of a big bumble bee in my ear. I whipped around, and there not 5 inches away looking me in the eye was a humming bird. She hovered at eye level for several seconds before jibing over to some nearby flowers. Closest I've ever been to one. Yesterday, Sunday, I was cooking on the grill when another zipped by, stopping at the feeder a few feet away. All last week, in fact, you could not look out a window, front or back, upstairs or down, without seeing hummers. Today, not one. They're gone until next year. What a bummer. A hummer bummer. Here's some footage I took out the kitchen window. These are Rob's "hummingpigs"

Humming Birds take leave.

While reading everything across the internet about the islamo-f-tards and listening to Michael Savage on the radio, my blood pressure was through the roof. This video made everything go away for a while. Yup, winter is upon us. It's cooling off quite a bit in Colorado (mid 30s this morning) but I'm still not sure why I have so many d@mn yellow-jackets flying all around my house.
Thanks for the Vid! - 9/18/06, 10:39 PM

Here's a pic of my hummers two years ago; if you count carefully, you'll find nine of 'em.

Beck called them "hummingpigs" a couple months ago, and I gotta agree as I fed them over 50 lbs. of sugar this year!
Here too they're leaving quickly; one more cup of nectar ought to do it for the season.

We're almost exactly at 40 degrees north latitude, and they left several weeks ago....

On the bright side, you must've been a very good lad this week. See how God rewarded you??? It truly is "in the little things." :) Juice

MS said, ''well those are Arizon hummingbirds, they're different from ours'' (we very seldom will see two hummers on the same feeder. Usually one chases the others away).
