Menendez does the perp walk?

We Want a Frog Walk!

Oh my.  The U.S. Attorney's office has launched a federal probe into Sen. Robert Menendez's (D NJ)  financial dealings.  A snide person might say, "New Jersey.  Democrat.  Duh."  But not me.  I imagine Tom  Delay is having a nice chuckle over this blather.

"We have seen an orchestrated series of leaks, bogus ethics complaints, and outright fabrications since the beginning of the campaign," Menendez said. "Suddenly, 61 days before the election, a prosecutor appointed by George Bush decides to take an interest and, not coincidentally, leaks to the press."

Bwahaaaaaaaaaa!

The subpoena also drew notice on Capitol Hill, where Democratic leaders charged Republicans were engaging in smear tactics to boost the Senate campaign of Tom Kean Jr., Menendez's Republican opponent.

Bwahaaaaaaaaaa!

"Bob Menendez is an outstanding senator who works tirelessly for the people of New Jersey," said Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D., N.Y.), head of the Democrats' Senate reelection committee. "From day one of this campaign, Tom Kean Jr. has relied on smears to cover up his own ties to George Bush."

Bwahaaaaaaaaaa!
What are democrats worried about?  The New Jersey Supreme Court will bring Robert Torricelli out of retirement if it looks like Menedez will lose (which seems like a good bet).
