CPUSA abd the Democratic Party

QUACK QUACK
Iowa Ugly?  The Republican Party ran a TV spot linking Waterloo congressional candidate Bruce Braley to the Communist Party - because the Communist Party endorsed him, and his views.  What's "Ugly?"  If you walk like a duck ...

Gus Hall for President
In a way I'm glad that Democrats still get their hackles up when they're compared to, or called, communists.  It means they still have some capacity for shame left within them.  The fact is that the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) has not nominated its own candidate for president since 1984 (Gus Hall/Angela Davis), preferring instead to endorse the Democrat. One of the very few Socialist Party candidates ever elected in this country is Rep. Bernie Sanders (now running for Vermont's open senate seat).  He  later changed his affiliation to "Independent," but was endorsed by the Democratic party in each of his elections, and caucuses with them.

Visit the CPUSA online presence [People's Weekly World]. Click on the archives. Compare the rhetoric with anything you've heard Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean, Harry Reid, or virtually any democrat say, on virtually any issue.  That's what's ugly.

The truth is only ugly to those trying to cover it up.

Way back when, in the web's adolescence - say 96 or 97 - Nancy Pelosi's original congressional web page also hosted the web page of the progressive caucus. Included on it was a page of communist workers part song lyrics complete with hammer and sickle background.

I stumbled upon it while living in Vermont at the time and getting ticked off at my congressman, Bernie Sanders.

I wished back then that there was a way to have saved it electronically, or that I had thought enough to print it out. I know others on the web have discussed this . . . but she's gone pretty far to effectivly erase its existence away and I've always found intriguing that the Internet Way Back machine doesn't go THAT FAR BACK when the web was still alive and well at the time.

Countertop -

It may have been saved electronically. If you know (at least some of) the original URL, go to web.archive.org and see if it was archived...

Countertop,

I emailed you at countertop@gmail.net and received a failure to deliver notice. I sent you and Rodger some files I had saved concerning the Progressive Caucus from 1998. Contact Rodger and he may be able to forward the message or give you my email address.

I'm glad that someone is keeping up with this info. I can add some more information from memory that might give you clues on very useful information to keep available online for others to learn from.

1) The Progressive Caucus is directly linked to the Democratic Socialists of America. Andrew Hammer was their web master and possibly for the Progressive Caucus as well. I simply don't remember that much as a certainty.

2) The Democratic Socialists of America was the result of a name change, formerly known as The Democratic Socialists Alliance.

3) The Democratic Socialists of America founding charter is a blue print of intent to overthrow our Constitutional Republican form of government in favor of socialism.

4) Older DSA web pages used to boast a list of members of Congress who were members and founding members. Also, direct linkage to and from the Progressive Caucus. Many members were also members of the Congressional Black Caucus.
(Note: before anyone starts yelling "racism" please be advised that you would be way off target as to my personal views. Racism has been a tool of the socialist movement for many decades and is abhorrent.)

5) Your earlier poster referencing "Hammer" is correct. He was in fact their webmaster at the time and likely is today. His own website uses former USSR motivational music in it's promotion.

6) While it's a bit of a tangent, note also that Pelosi, if memory serves, worked for former REP Ron Dellum prior to her own congressional bid. Ron Dellum had a major affection for the government of Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

7) Please note that this is not a political focus against the Democrat Party. Rather, it represents an infiltration of the Democrat Party that has taken place over the last several decades by socialists calling themselves anything but socialist is an effort to make the definition and name of socialism more palatable in American culture. The DSA has also made reference to that fact as well in past website articles.
