Google purchase of YouTube

Not so dumb
It does look ridiculous on the surface, but YouTube emerged as the dominant player in what is becoming an important tool for voicing political opinion. If you want to control the message, and more than few people have cited Google's attempts to do just that, this is a natural. If they follow through on the rumored plan to share ad revenue generated by individual videos, they will pretty much lock up the market. If there's an electronic New York Times in our future (egad), Google's it.
