I've always appreciated a good hummer, any time of year...
BTW, they are headed for HERE (S. Arizona) when they leave. We'll see them all winter long, then send a few back to you!

I've been married 24 years now so I stopped getting hummers years ago....
I took my feeders down and i saw a straggler buzzing around looking for them yesterday...

How late do you usually have them? Think you might get a few to winter over?

Mother Superior read that it's not unusual to see them here into November, although a different species than the Ruby. As a consequence we are still changing the sugar water, and of course all the hummingbird flowers are still in bloom. A few days ago we had one that stayed for two days, really tanking upon the nectar. This is the latest we've seen one, they're all moving on though.
