So is he gonna pull the trigger or fall on his sword? And why is a Major General (see two stars on his epaulets?) pulling guard duty? He musta fucked up really bad, so now I understand why he's gonna end it all.

Yes, an obvious fake. I presume this is supposed to be a British soldier? He sure ain't that. If he actually belongs to any army, then it sure is a third rate outfit.
This guy's laughably ill-fitting tunic is inaccurate in many ways, and seems like it was made for the stage. And look at the neck - whose neck were they trying to fit, King Kong's? The shoulder and collar insignia don't correspond to any rank in the British army, who don't use two simple stars anyway for the rank of major general.
Each of the five British regiments of foot guards has differently grouped buttons on the tunic. Only the first regiment, the Grenadier Guards, has single buttons evenly spaced, and they have, duh, a grenade on their collar, not whatever this guy has.
And his bearskin cap looks matted and cheaply made. It looks more like a pipe cleaner than bearskin. - 10/3/06, 1:38 AM
