While I'm watching the Midwestern Music Jubilee, or some such on the telly downstairs, Mother Superior was taking in NBC's  Today Show, up.  When I went up to get my shower she filled me in on the latest from idiot savant (hey, she can sing) Barbra Streisand [Quickly from the NY POST] After serenading fans with some of her greatest hits, Streisand mocked President Bush. A few dozen people began to heckle her with one man shouting, "What is this, a fund-raiser?" An incensed Streisand shot back, "Why don't you shut the f- - - up. If you can't take a joke, why don't you leave and get your money back." The item was duly reported by Matt Lauer and whatshername, and that was the end of it.  But, noooooooooooo.  Streisand's publicist called NBC to complain about the unfair reporting.  "The man was a well known professional heckler," was the official story.  Lauer dryly responded, "Well, since he was a professional heckler, and not just an amateur..."   In the end, predictably,  they told The Barbra, on-air, that she was welcome to come on the show anytime.  They even called her at home (I'm not making this up) with Streisand responding, "You're calling me now?  I'm f-ing asleep!"
