Trash Bag Tips

Trash Bags
Trash bags
My sense is that the are not a helluva lot of home trash compactors in use, else the bags would be sold in supermarkets, etc.  We've had our Kitchen Aid 15" compactor for 18 years, and could scarce do without it.  Anyway, if I buy ''official''  replacement bags, they go for something like $14/Doz.  So, here's the tip - for several years now I've bought them online from plastic bag wholesalers.  Yesterday I bought a case (150 bags 16X9X30 4 mil black trash can liners)  for $50.13 +$16 freight.  FWIW.

Years ago there was a test of trash compactors in Consumers Reports. Their conclusion was basically that you should think twice before you spend $250 on a machine that turns 20 pounds of trash into 20 pounds of trash.

They run about $700 today. Yes, it is a luxury not having to take the trash out but once - maybe twice - a week, but it's one I've grown to appreciate.

The Mister manages that, too. Watching him jump up and down in the can is worth the $700 in laffs alone.
