Fear the Turtle
If you're going to insanely bracket the 2007 NCCA Basketball Tournament in November, as Joe Lombardi does on the ESPN web site, then don't add stupidity to the mix by leaving Maryland out of it entirely.  Sheesh. The Terps were left out of the tournament last year despite being 8-8 in the world's toughest league.  Yes they stunk, but still ... .  However -- this year they have three new players named Chris Wilcox, Juan Dixon, and Steve Blake.  I know, the roster says Bambale Osby, Greivis Vasquez., and Eric Hayes, but don't be fooled.  Gary Williams has conjured a return of the three most important players from the Terps '02 championship team.  They're young, but ohhhhhhhhh Nelly.  They will be in this year's toonamunt.  The Tar Heels are thrilled that they only have to play them once, while Duke is atremble with two contests scheduled.  Fear the Turtle. *turtle hiss*

My Jayhawks start the season ranked 3 in the nation... we'll see if they are up to it. Most of them are only sophomores this year.

Hope they don't draw a team that starts with "B" in the first round.

Sounds like the Terps might even fit in the Bowl picture for football -- not a chance at the 'championship' (thanks, NCAA, for not putting any kind of REAL championship tournament together, therefore preventing a legitimate 'cindarella story' or its equivalent from actually take place), but a real bowl bid... (Last I saw, they were ranked 23... I don't usually read the rankings, though, so I'm not sure what they are this week. Just that they've lost a couple times very early into the season, and so it's impossible to ever be ranked no. 1 again)

They do have a great shot at the Orange bowl, just have to beat Wake Forest in two weeks. the game Saturday with Boston College is virtually meaningless.

The Vols have not had a good basketball team in years but things are changing here. We have a great coach that can recruit as well. So we are improving. Our womens team though is one of the best in the country and Pat Summit is a legend. Now Vol Football will get a bowl game if our starting QB makes it back. We also have some great new players for our offensive line and defensive line which will make things very interesting next season. We also have 2 great young Qb's
