James Webb

The Gentleman From Virginia
When James Webb comes calling
James Webb made a bargain with the devil, and the devil [the Democrat party, in this instance] is in for some payback they probably didn't count on,  Here's  a teaser from  R. Emmett Tyrrell, Jr.'s The Gentleman From Virginia. Enjoy.

When Ronald Reagan's former secretary of the navy, James Webb, eked out victory against the Republican Senator George Allen in Virginia, what did the Democrats gain? To be sure they gained control of the Senate. That has been widely noted. Less widely noted is the fact that they gained something infinitely more subtle, but delightfully more amusing as will become apparent in the months ahead.

In Webb they gained yet another very unpleasant person as a conspicuous member of the party hierarchy. He will not be easily obscured. Webb now takes his place with Hillary Rodham Clinton, Dr. Howard Dean, Al Gore, Jean-Francois Kerry, and so many other Democratic notables as a rebarbative blowhard with whom you would not want to share a gondola. Nor would a civilized American want to have any of these churlish cads to dinner or even as neighbors down the block. Just the other day one of Senator Clinton's neighbors turned up with a gunshot wound. I would not be surprised if it were self-inflicted. [cont]

Love your gondola line!:D
Suicidal neighbor? One would think so. Perhaps, more likely a "right-wing conspiracy" to involve Hillabeast. ;p Juice

Tyrrell is correct this oaf was under no obligation to accept the Presidents hospitality. I have stated early on I believe this man to be a pervert and a liability. I think the crappers will regret this.

When Webb first announced, I was perplexed as to why he was running as a dem. I had heard him on a local radio show and than read his book "Born Fighting" It just didn't make sense. That book couldn't have been written by the likes of Kerry or Dean.

Even after a horribly tedious campaign, on both sides, I held out hope that the dems didn't know what they were getting if Webb won.

I guess I can put those hopes to bed. He looks to be a grade A asshole. He sure is off to a flying start.

I took his campaign as an attempt to upstage Ollie North, a lifelong enemy from boat-school days in Annapolis.
