I'm under the distinct impression that the U.S. Postal service has become little more than a welfare system. My mail box is filled with 98% garbage. I dread sorting through the mail because it seems about the same as dragging the neighbors garbage can into my house, dumping it out on the floor and sorting through it for something useful. I often get other peoples mail and bills. Hell, when I went to vote last week, the woman that was checking my registration read my name and address and said "Ooooh! You're the one who's mail always comes to our house" and she lives on a different street with a name that's not even similar. Don't get me started on the actual post office that has only one person that speaks English as a first language....

A few years ago it snowed, and for the first time in my life the mail wasn't delived when I, and others, were able to drive about. I went to the post office a few days later and jokingly said to the clerk, Hey what happened to ''Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night will keep us from out appointed rounds?" I received a curt, "That was before we had a union." Bitch.

I will have to say that We have very few problems with the postal service in our town, It is still mostly English speaking Americans that work there. But I do agree about the junk mail and I have received the neighbors mail about 1 time in the 20 years we have owned this house. But I have heard horror stories about the mail in other places. I wonder if there is like something that ranks what city has the worst mail service.
