Senate Majority Leader Lieberman

Juicy Juicy

Vice President Cheney congratulates new Senate Majority Leader Lieberman, and his wife Hadassah.
I'm sure this has been addressed elsewhere, but what the hell.  If George Allen pulls it out we have a 50-50 Senate. Cheney the tie-breaker keeps it Republican. If Webb prevails, then it's nominally 51-49, Donks.  I say nominally because Robert Menendez, just elected in New Jersey, will probably be indicted soon, maybe even before Christmas. But, never mind.  That won't keep him out since  Democrats only recognize a jail cell as reason to expel one of their own.  If he had the good sense to step down (under pressure, as did Torricelli),  then the man who appointed him in the first place, Gov. Corzine, would select his leftwing replacement.  Alas. That leaves Joe Lieberman, just elected as an Independent.

The issue that caused the fissure between him and Democrats was Iraq. It's a certainty that Democrats in the House will do what they do best, and that's refuse to fund any war that lasts longer than a Kennedy stay at the Betty Ford Clinic.  That leaves the Senate as the President's only ally.  It seems to me that Lieberman would show a great lack of integrity by voting to organize the Senate under Democrat rule.  Will he show the integrity of  2006 Lieberman, or the 2000 version, when he took just 30 seconds as Gore's running mate to jettison every principle he had?

It would be the juiciest of jucies if Lieberman cast the deciding vote that kept the Senate under GOP control.  Just juicy. Mr. Majority Leader.  Oh stop.  Could he be any worse than Trent Lott, or Whats-his-name?  I don't think so, and it would cause several coronaries.

It ain't gonna happen. We lost both houses. I know it's a bitch to choke down. You feel bad? Think about the poor purple stained finger Iraqis. Think about that last helicopter in Saigon and the millions that fled or were killed. And the North Vietnamese are pikers compared to the murdering Islamofascists. And than they're coming here.

I guess when you get right down to it, conservatives didn't have a conservative leader. I love Bush, but he compromised too much with the rat bastards. We had the GD majority, frigging McCain gets a big slice of this blame. Like Jack hates Rudy, I hate McCain. He is a fucking asshole. Hate his guts, hate his liver. He stabbed Bush and his fellow senators repeatedly. I really don't know if I could vote for him. I know that'll change, but a lot of this defeat is right on him. God we were up 55!!!!-45.

Just watch how much compromising W gets from Congress now. I've heard justice Stevens has been hanging on, hoping that apple tree Leahy would become chairman of the Judicary Committee. And lordy be. Just watch how much compromising Leahy will offer. SQUAT. BOUPKISS. NADA.

The list of these MoFo dems that head up various committees is frightening. Any Republican that sat this one out or voted Dem should be real proud, real fucking proud.

I'm just sick.

Hey! Don't give up on Allen yet- the fat lady ain't sung yet.

Here's the scenario that I heard could happen: Rumsfield would step down and Bush would nominate Lieberman to replace him. Then the republican governor in CT would select a replacement for Joe - giving us back the majority -hahahahahaha!

I really got my hopes up for about 5 minutes today- then saw Bush hadn't gotten the memo.

From Report #618
"Now that the 2006 elections are in the bag, it should be noted that despite media emphasis on "the war," this election campaign was conspicuous for its LACK of mention of the real war. Yes, they talked around (not about) Iraq (and the view differed less from Republicans to Democrats than either would admit). But Iraq is a front, not the war.

America will have an altered direction in foreign policy--perhaps less than some people think--but Iran will not. Through Republicans and Democrats, through liberals and conservatives, through red-state rule and blue-state rule Iran has been pursuing the spread of radical Islam through terrorism. The first test for the new Congress and the old President will be to understand Iran's intentions in Iraq and its impact on our soldiers. Only after that can they seriously consider how long we stay and how we leave.

To be fair, no one wants a wider war than the one they think we already have. But here is the lesson of al Qaeda--they were at war with us long before we were at war with them. Politicians saw what was happening, but no one wanted to mention the war until after 3,000 of our citizens had been killed at home. We've taken the same approach with Iran. Will the outcome differ?"

Everyone here has pretty well covered what I've been unable to speak about. Yesterday was a shut down for me. No news by TV, radio, or print. Not Even the Rush Man.....

The early evening sunset was so magnificent, a few suppressed tears made their way out as I realized it's NOT about R's and D's. It's about GOOD vs EVIL. Conservatism vs Liberalism-Socialism-Communism.

That beautiful sunset with fluffy, vididly painted clouds was our Lord's Handiwork. The GOOD Stuff. What good stuff is made of. God help us.
I truly fear for America's safety.

That 3000 marcm, chalk it up to an Honorable Mention. The real deal is yet to come. Juice Concentrate
