Skins and dominoes

Holy Crap X 2
With 6 seconds left, game tied, the Cowboys are lined up for a chip shot field goal to win the game.  Six seconds later, with no time on the clock,  the Redskins win the game with a field goal from their 32 yard line.  Write that script.

Take that Clint Longley!  If you care about football you know the answer, if not you don't even read this far. WAIT. Come back!  There's something for you too.

The Clint Longley reference is to a Thanksgiving day Redskin-Cowboy game in 1974.  With the lead, and less than a minute left, the 'Skins had knocked Roger Staubach out of the game. Yay. Let's eat and celebrate.   In comes quarterback Longley, whom nobody had ever heard of.  The sumbitch throws a 50 yard TD pass to Drew Pearson and ruined our Turkey dinner.  Bastard.  Now we're even.

As improbable as that was, this is even more preposterous.  Chrissie sent me this video.  Had even one thing gone wrong, the architect would have been sorely tempted to stick his head in an oven.  Check  out this feat of engineering,

I saw the Redskins/Cowboys, what a great finish! Now what's the deal with the guy with all the dominos, pool tables, and time to waste?

Great finish is right.

I still am happy with Champ. He is freaking awesome, even Manning didn't throw to his side.

I don't know why he wastes his time like that either, Casca, when he could be spending endless amounts of time blogging. Sheesh.

1974! Wow,you can really carry a grudge!;)
Watching that "unbelievable" video, I thought about how our mind sets at any given time influence how we see things via relevant thought. Election paths and events were in my mind. An operation, a developing fetus, a missed/occurring auto accident...the ripples on a pond...
FOOTBALL 1974 vs 2006!
It's all relevant. :) Sweet! Juice

I guess it's come full circle. Think back to the 1970(?)game in the Cotton Bowl where Mike Bass pulled down Walt Garrison short of the goal line on the last play of the game to preserve a victory.

No, a good grudge is the one I hold against Dallas. It dates back to 1960, when they took Eddie Lebaron from the 'Skins as part of the expansion deal. Every since, nothing Dallas does is worth spit. And since that goes back to the beginning, I guess Dallas just isn't worth spit, completely.

BTW, nice dominoes trick. Have you seen the one with 10,000 British Pound coins?
