What? No Fiesta Bowl? I do miss the Big Ten/Pac Ten matchup at the Rose Bowl. It was one of the great reasons to live out here. Now I have to go to freakin' Phoenix. On the other hand, what happens in the rest of the country is a lot more interesting these days. I'm rooting for LSU to beat the Razorbacks on Friday so that USC gets the shit knocked out of their "Quality Win" numbers.

Poulan used to be Independence Bowl.
LSU played Notre Dame there in 98, Michigan state two years later. I think Alabama played there a year ago.
Shreveport sucks. - 11/22/06, 10:41 AM

The Muffler Bowl used to be the Tire Bowl and the Terps beat WVU in that game in 2003, if memory serves. Haven't beat us since. The Mountaineers also played in the Insight in the late 90s. Georgia Tech, I think.

NC State vs. Central Florida 12/31/2005 in the Car Care bowl. Took my kids to see that. Was able to get 3 tickets to the club level. Normally those are 75 bucks plus surchage/fees. I got them for 50 bucks total.
It's amazing what happens to scalper tickets once the game kicks off. If you don't mind missing a few minutes of the opening quarter, you can do quite well.
Will be going again this year. The kids didn't care much about the game, but they had a blast. - 11/22/06, 8:12 PM

I stoped at the Holiday Inn and got there last room. They had a lounge and That night a lot of the players from the Ark team was there after winning there home game that day. It was one of the best times I ever had travaling.
