Rumsfeld wrote this. Pure brilliance. Shakespearian. Most likely Bani Sadr's ass was uppermost on his mind at the time:
As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
We don't know. - 12/15/06, 6:46 PM

The guilt! The guilt! My incandescent light bulbs! I can't stand it! Save the orangutans! Buy expensive, low-wattage bulbs from China! Save the apes and create jobs for Chinese slave laborers! Buy them for your friends for Christmas and absolve your conscience of eco-guilt! Al Gore will be proud of you!

Hm... I occasionally use those low wattage bulbs. They don't burn out as quickly as incandescents, so if I have a difficult-to-change lightbulb somewhere in goes the florescent bulb (or the LED bulb, if I can ever find one). For most of the easier to change ones, however, I go with standard incandescents.
The environment, though, has NEVER been a concern when making bulb purchases in my household. For that matter, I have a hard time figuring out what which type of lightbulb you choose has to do with 'saving the environment' anyway. - 12/16/06, 12:50 AM

Funny, how reading the words "low wattage bulbs" made me think of Nancy Pelosi.
