When I saw this Newsweek report on Thursday, I thought the same thing that Charles Johnson wrote above.  WTF?   My answer was that now that they control Congress, Democrats can start behaving like Americans again.  Follow me here.  In 1993, Senate Democrats held their own Whitewater hearing, and a beauty it was.  Every witness appearing for the White House lied (remember Josh Steiner recovering from a contradiction by saying he lied to his own diary?).  And while Democrats failed to refer a single person to the Justice Department, they at least allowed people to hang themselves with their own words.  Contrast that with the Whitewater hearing chaired by Republican Alfonse M. D'Amato after the GOP took over congress in 1994. Democrat senators, led by Paul Sarbanes, launched a guerrilla war that denied witnesses, and stopped damning testimony that was being delivered.  Still, it was apparent that Hillary Clinton, and just about everyone who appeared regarding her conduct in the "Whitewater" imbroglio had perjured themselves, and was so noted in the report.  Attorney General Janet Reno would decide against any prosecutions, but it was out there. What I said.  The left's anti-American behavior since 9-11 had everything to do with petulant politics.  Democrats are a party that will sacrifice the nation in a heartbeat,  if the blame ccan be shifted to political enemies.  That's exactly what Miller is saying.  A Democrat president would attempt to do the right thing (although it would be doomed to failure because of Democrat's total ineptness in all things national security), and the media would clap*clap*clap.  I hate those people.
