hanging video

Stories said there was a 'scuffle' just as American guards tried to turn him over to the Iraqi executioners. Based on the marks on his face seen in the post-mortem photos, someone got one last chance to smack him around as he deserved.

Then again, I don't see those marks in this video. Perhaps he got swatted with the bottom of a shoe afterward...

I think the hangman's knot did the cheese-grater thing on the side of his head. Usually it's positioned just behind the ear, but, judging by the video clips, the guy putting it on left it laying on his shoulder. Must have hurt like a bitch for a millisecond or so...
tsk, tsk...

Someone that has been hung will have some dark purplish spots come up on there face sometimes. Also the rope when tied can cause some. Every Army devision that was shipped over seas used to take with them a portable gallows and there were prescribed army regulations for hanging someone. It explained how the knot was tied and how the noose was placed over the left ear.Very detailed.

Ick.
In spite of everything that has transpired over the past few days, I wish every one of you a very happy and healthy new year. Keep the faith, hope for the best.
Cheers,

What's with the neck scarf? I don't think he would be worried about rope burns.

Well....he wasn't laughing and smiling as his lawyer said he would be.

Lars, so far no word on that [high ick factor]. Not even from the sneak with the cellphone camera [google videos].

Thanks to everyone who filled in some details on post-mortem damage to the hangees.

Let's hope Iraq joins us in a Happy New Year!

I join you in hoping that things improve in the coming year for all of mankind that seek to live in peace and justice without the boot of another Saddam on there neck or the opression of Islam.
