Cell Phone Tapping

Another Fun Fact
''A recent court ruling in a case against the Genovese crime family revealed that the FBI has the ability from a remote location to activate a cell phone and turn its microphone into a listening device that transmits to an FBI listening post, a method known as a "roving bug."  Experts say the only way to defeat it is to remove the cell phone battery.'' - Can You Hear Me Now?

Good gods... And people call me 'paranoid' for storing my cell phone in a small Faraday cage.

One man's 'paranoid' is another man's 'forward thinking'.

Here's what pissesme off,not that anyone really wants to know, but with regularity I hear of amazing new things that can be done electronically,so why in the hell can't these geniuses find a way to control the TV volume between stations. This is particularly noticable at 3:00 in the morning and you change channels and the sudden blast of sound blows you outta your chair and wakes up everyone in an area 4 buildings wide. With the wonderful cable situation you have 100 channels and 100 different volumes. It's one of my 10 major peeves. Thanks for listening.Amen.

I can remember a time when we thought a spike mic was just great because we could get the room next to the subject and just tap t into the wall and hear everything they said. They still have thousands of these things.

That boy must be on drugs if he hears a voice over that "can phone".That string gotta be pulled tight in order to vibrate.

Only thing new here is that it's making news. For the past 7 years at least, the USG has prohibited cell phones in any secure area for exactly this reason.

Don't think for a minute that only Uncle is capable of doing this.
