Cuzzin Ricky

Cuzzin Ricky remembers

My sister had some skank girlfriends
I remember the coo coo clock on your folk's living room wall.  When Bill and I slept at your place in Towson, the damned thing would wake us up "on the hour"

I remember your Dad's push-button transmission Plymouth
          1958 Plymouth Savoy
that you blew the tranney on.

I remember visiting you in Towson, and the big sport after a day of sightseeing, was watching the adults down Manhattans, while we picked Japanese Beetles off of the roses.

I remember the player piano in your basement in Chicago, that we'd swap spools in, and "pump away"

I remember visiting you in Severna Park on weekends, when I worked in D.C...... and becoming the center of attention, doing my "Jorge Thing"  (Good bye....how are you?")

I remember BJ rehearsing her "Banana Boat" routine with her girlfriend, ......again..... in the basement of your house in Chicago.

I remember a lot  ..... all great!  But most of all, I remember when you tried to describe to my Mom  who James Brown was......

Cuzzin Ricky just made your day, didn't he? If it was your birthday this post would be a perfect gift. :)
I remember the player piano at my friends house. There was a music armoire filled will rolls. My favorite was Primrose Lane. Thanks for the memory.

Childhood memories grow sweeter with time, nice reminder Roger.

Now that JB clip was a real life SNL skit, all that was missing was the hot tub.

In 1950 I spent the summer on a farm in Indiana where there was a player piano and a big box of rools of which I played a large number. My favorite was "Me and My Shadow". I still like that tune til this day.
