The troops in the field in Iraq have to get approval to return fire from something like seven levels of command before returning fire. So I figure the troops in Arizona don't have a chance in hell of defending themselves.
A buddy of mine in The Guard calls this a "Klausterflugen" aka a "Charles Foxtrot". -

i do not know where you got the information about about the tropps not being able to return fire with out permission. I assure you that is not the case if it were most would be dead and there would be no dead bad guys. The troops there can fire anytime they are threatened.
As for the guard on the border whose post were over run you can just about bet that they were not armed with ammo. This is a national disgrace and everone in the government that has a hand in it should be prosecuted up to and including Bush. They have violated there oath of office and have violated the constitution. Something has got to happen to wake these people up. -

I think I got that information on a episode of "Shootout" on the HC.It had to do with returning fire that was coming from a mosque.
And you are 100% correst, this BS has to stop regardless of where it's coming from. -

My mom lives in Green Valley, AZ, bout halfway between Tucson and Nogales. In the last five years the traffic in illegals and their dope has increased to the point where it seems like there are sirens from local/state/ICE vehicles going almost 24/7.
Its downright scary.
The Mexican Gov't is literally dumping the scum of their society on the border and using them as decoys while drug runners deploy their shipments elsewhere.
It is truly a national disgrace and, as a nation we are bleeding heavily from this madness. Millions of dollars goes into MEXICAN coffers daily, not only from drugs, but from illegals who send huge amounts, untaxed, unreported and unaccounted for back across the border.
And if one of the theiving bastards kills or maims an American citizen, like the policeman who was killed here in Denver last year, the illegal zips back across the border and allows his "homies" in the Mexican Govt. to fight his extradition.
It is complete and utter insanity.
I fear for my dear ol' mother. Thank God she lives in that well policed enclave.
