Add another $500 for a triple mega-begga round of RAM.

I saw some spokesman for Microsoft (about 2 months ago)say that it was only going to cost about $120!! WTF??!!
The wife let me pick out a laptop for Christmas and it is "Vista ready" AND they send it to me for free.

Still debating on whether or not I want to install it (once I get it).

I do not think it is worth it now for me.

I don't see a single feature I don't have, need, or want. Eventually MS will simply quit supporting XP, and we'll all have Vista on new computers.

I still have 2000... and until the things I do on this computer quit working with it, I'm keeping 2000.

I tested out various new flavors of Linux over the holidays to replace the distro I used to use and ended up loading two Ubuntu and Fedora on my laptop.

Cost $0. Shipping $0. Tax $0. And I'm using less than half of my 512Mb of memory.

I'm installing it on my TRS-80 this weekend. Wish me luck!

God, how I do so love Beta Release 2's with fully functioning product keys. Rodg, you're right. As of now the ONLY benefit is that my wireless connection fires up quicker with Vista. Oh, yeah, and Office 2007 has the same 'feel' as Vista.
