The New York Times Referendum on Iraq

To some, the voting served not only as a referendum on President Bush’s handling of the Iraq war, but also on what was perceived as country music’s rejection — and radio’s censorship — of the trio. - New York Times A referendum?  Grammy nominees are are voted upon by peers in the famously anti-American entertainment industry.  Duh.  Country Music did not reject them.  Country music fans who buy music, and who attend concerts rejected them.  Radio stations that took them off the air made a business decision.  Their listeners demanded it. If you listened to the Chick's acceptance cluck, one of them did the Nelson Muntz Ha-Ha. The audience laughed.  Why?  Because they were in on it.  The Chicks got their Grammies as a get-even gift .  Which of course is why Jimmy ''Freaking'' Carter also won a Grammy  for reading from his book.  It doesn't matter that everyone associated with him has disavowed the book,  he's a vocal Bush hater, and that's what counts for these idiots.
