New Fox News Show

Can FOX do SMARMY?

This is the other “info-tainment” show Fox is developing, “Red Eye” being the first. It’s supposed to be a right-wing alternative to the Daily Show, although I don’t recall the last time Jon Stewart did two and a half minutes of Marion Barry jokes and body odor puns.

I read that review on Hot Air before watching the clip.  Went running upstairs to find where I had the Frank Caliendo post so I could send it to FOX, with the message, "Here's one funny guy who's not a ratbastardcommiefuthermucker. "

 Then I watched it.

WTF?  I thought it was pretty good.  True, the host lacked the smug condescension of a John Stewart, but to give liberals their due, there are some things they're just really good at.   I give FOX an A+ for trying, A B+for the sample, and an F- for waiting so long to do it. Next, how about a Sixty-Minutes style show?

Nah that wasn't bad. I just wish they could get someone tried and true to do it. But also, I know the daily show is liberal, but they ARENT above slamming Dems too. So if this show is gonna work, they better not try to avoid doing it.

And Red Eye sucks. One of those dudes drops jokes that are stupid, and it has the wit of a public access show host. I'd rather see the prime-time reruns they usually showed.

Hope you saw my last 2 post on the other thread. I wanted you to know I certainly never intended to inferr you were ignorant. Far from it I enjoy reading your comments and agree with you probably 99% of the time. Sometime I just do not express my self well.

I'm still waiting for an interviewer to stop tossing him softball questions and ask: "Did you recite the Shahadah, and if so, have you renounced it?

If so: "A single honest recitation of the shahadah in Arabic is all that is required for a person to become a Muslim according to most traditional schools." (From Wikipedia)

If renounced: ""All five major schools of Islamic jurisprudence agree that a sane male apostate must be executed." (also from Wikipedia)

We have to know these things before we either 1. Elect a closet Muslim, or 2. Elect an apostate President with a fatwa (Islamic death sentence) against him.

TFV, I thought about mentioning Dennis Miller too. But his shows have a tendency to die before they're out of the box. I dunno, John Stewart is even more left than he was when I was watching him about 4 years ago. You could laugh your ass off because not everything was this spewing hate for the right and the President. Now I laugh at very few things on his show.

When Stewart first started he was not to bad but he just kept getting more and more extream. The left is very full of them self thinking this last election is hugh and a mandate for them which it is certainly not. There number one guy was trounced by Leiberman and many of the new congressmen ran as conservatives.

Yeah, Stewart used to funny on Duck Soup. Just like Rosie O'Donnell used to funny and I really liked her. Success seems to have tainted their hearts as well as their minds.

TFV! Right on again with Dennis Miller (or David Spade) for that cutting edge. But, the show would need to buff the intelligence level to get Miller. And Spade could deliver as best a cutting line as anyone.
