Rodg,
Please do not use the terms 'insurgent' or 'African-American' unless you're discussing the pinheads in the MSM, DNC, etc. These terms boil my AMERICAN blood like you would not believe.
I swear to the baby Jesus that I'm going to wring Hannity's neck if I ever see him on the street. Or at least punch him on his red Irish-American nose for pandering to Jesse Jackson with his constantly referring to Americans who happen to be black as African-Americans.
As your former school-mate and riding partner Teddy R. said, "There is no place in this country for hyphenated Americans." - 2/2/07, 6:28 PM

Labor unions have attempted to negotiate for legal insurance for the past thirty years. Once you get into the income bracket you want (and it's indexed) you have to get the tax-free benefits. That way the evil capitalists have to foot the bill for all that other expensive stuff. So if junior knocks over a 7-11 and gets caught all you gotta do is call a company provided lawyer. Same same for those pesky closing costs on real estate, filing a will, shutting the neighbor up when your dog eats his etc., etc., etc..
Oh yea, the ABA is all for thisidea. - 2/2/07, 6:31 PM

You botched the link, Rodger. That period needs to be replaced with a slash.
That's a great idea! We need to nationalize the legal system. Why didn't Hillary think of it?

I will assure you it will do a hell of a lot more good than nationalized health care. Another thing that would go along way in stopping mindless and specious torts would be to adopt the loser pays principal like the Brits. A person like Madonna would think twice about filing that law suit because she burnt her lips on hot coffee from Burger King and was unable to service the english sissy she hooked up if she was faced with paying all court cost and atty fees if she lost. The same would happen to ACLU or we could just hang them.

Hey, Most Righteous and Honored Director Schlong, you're missing something in your analysis. As one who is lumped into the "ambulance chaser" category, I gotta say you are spot on with just about everything but when it comes to what I do, you're a little off. You should know that all I do is sue insurance companies on behalf of regular citizens injured by some moron or at work. Now I know many of my brethren are quite parasitic, don't get me wrong. I also know that a lot of my clients come to me because I don't rip them off. That is something that comes from character developed and reinforced at the Schlong Institute. Yet, my clients don't come to me because they've been treated fairly by an insurance company (i.e. paid their medical bills, wage loss, and a little something for the lifetime of disability), rather they come because they got screwed by the insurance carrier, often their own carrier, on a policy they paid the premiums on. I recognize profit is a good thing, don't get me wrong, but have a gander at any state's insurance commissioner's website and scroll around until you find info on the insurance carrier's assets. They didn't get that money making a little on top of the premium taken to insure a risk. Some of the animosity you and others have toward guys like me is premised on your understanding that guys like me put people out of business. On what do you base that? Because a slick PR campaign by the insurance industry tells you that premiums have to be increased due to guys like me. Really? Ask the insurance company what it's excess reserve is. Ask 'em how much premiums have gone down in states where their lobbyists convinced the legislators who accepted insurance industry campaign contributions to enact tort "reform." Look Director, the insurance carrier is gung ho to take the premium dollar and promise you they'll protect you. For the most part, they're actually pretty good about that when it comes to property damage. When we deal with personal injury though, different story. And Director, please recognize that the costs of litigation are someting I pay and only recoup if successful. If I don't recoup, I go broke. Thus, cases are screened very well. You like the English rule. So would I. I'd love it if the carriers would have to pay my clients fair money and my fee for having to bring the case. Hell, bring it on.
