Fifth place in the The Top 10 Sentences From Third-Rate SF Stories list goes to ... .

All are funny, but without attribution who knows if they're real?  You can't see any wires holding Flash Gordon's rocket ship either.  Do you know why?  Because it was real.  I think Werner Von Braun designed his prototype space ships on Zarkov's.   Didn't  Richard Nixon try to costume the uniformed Secret Service in Ming the Merciless attire?

 My kids made me take them to the movies each Saturday to see the next installment of  Flash Gordon - Space Soldiers Conquer the Universe!  The copyright has expired on them, so Yippie-Kai-Ay, here's Flash, Dale, and Zarkov returning  to Planet Mongo to find an antidote for the Purple Death.

As an aside, I taught Larry Crabbe (Flash Gordon) how to swim withoout holding his nose.

I have the entire Flash Gordon collection on DVD. When I was a kid, our school showed serial episodes during lunch hour. Flash's adventures were my favorites. Actually, Dale's were my favorites.

If you go here.... http://www.videoranch.com/html/frhomepage.html and click 'videos' scroll down to "Fat Kid And Bob" there is a sci/fi serial that has had the dialog changed...result? a very funny old tape from the 30's I would guess...Lots of other videos at the site..This is my favorite....
