looks like a .44 cal new model navy colt on the top there, but is that a remington on the bottom? or a griswald and greer?

If you are interested in a non-papered pistol, buy one, and then get a kirst cartridge converter from brownells.com and turn it into a single-action cartridge pistol.

Perfectly legal for a non-felon, provided you don't live in sme east-coast socialist craphole state.

I've gotten mine mostly through Sutlers....both online and at live events. Also through selling/trading with other reenactors.

However, mine are all reproductions as we're not allowed (for safety reasons) to use original weaponry at live events.

Of course, I don't think anyone in their right mind would want to take an original Civil War rifle musket to an event in the first place unless they're just tryin' to show off. They're far too valuable to chance getting damaged.

The sabre is actually a recent addition. It was given to me by a close friend's mother after his passing. I plan to mount it on my living room wall.

"War of Northern Aggression", eh? I first read that on a historical marker by the campus of the University of Georgia. I then laughed so hard that I scared the local Athenians. Really, it should be known as the "War of Southern Stupidity/Indecency". Stupid, for biting off more than they could chew, and Indecent for being based upon a desire to keep people enslaved. It's just a shame that Jefferson Davis and Robert E. Lee were not hanged by the neck until dead.

Dont ever mention states rights. That's a code word for racism 'cause we all know it was only about slavery.
