California's Tax Assault

Another assault on Prop. 13

“An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation.” - U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Marshall

California lamakers are no worse than Maryland's - maybe not even as bad, but there's more of them. And don't get uppity Orange boys, I was damning you with that faint praise.

..necessary to pay for government services people want... PEOPLE? Homeless, maybe? Illegals maybe? People who are on the dole not paying their own way, maybe?
If Gov.Schwarzenegger wants to give EVERY baby born in CA 500 bucks at birth, not by way of HIS own wealth, why in hell would we expect him to "veto" this damn "project money grab"??

Good lord, I'm effing sick of this country's representation being decided by voting districts established along the most densely populated "metropolitan" areas of each state. Those bastions of "higher" (commie) learning that eat away at the American soul. They are not the majority of this nation. (fuck, send me some Prozac)

Don't feel so bad Juice, the State of Nevada is really great except that everyone except my boss and I in Las Vegas are Dems. We try but Harry Reid keeps getting elected. He cashes in on being Mormon. You'd think they would vote Republican, but not in Vegas. At least our electoral votes tend to go Red.

Prop 13 has been the most effective method of screwing everyone in California since Courtney Love departed.

It showed that the most efficient way to destabilize a state government is to make sure it doesn't have enough money for even the basics. That way, the government has to jack taxes while cutting services all around.

Ask an economist just how well Prop. 13 has worked for the people of the state, except the movies tards, 'cuz they can afford anything anyway.
