I had the television off. I NEVER go to CNN, and certainly would never park there. A few minutes ago the television turned on. I had last been on the Discovery Channel. It auto changed to CNN. I am alone. |

Is it one of those HD TVs?
You do realize that HD stands for "Hidden Democrat", right?
Do you by any chance have Comcast? 'Cause the same thing happens to me sometimes.

This happens more times than I would have believed.....I'll go to a particular site and read up on a subjest or product and a little while later it shows up, in the form up an advertisement on my TV.....Are we being tracked all the time to see what our interests are so advertisements can be tailored to us?..I have had digital TV for a couple of years now and I do believe some tricky things can be accomplished with it.......Big Brother Is Watching You..and you too........Any bargain prices to be had anywhere on aluminum foil?
JMcD, try the old "tape on the windows trick to stop directional mics" only put it on the screen of the tv.. all over. It will stop those annoying commercials as long as you turn the sound off. Surprised you haven't shot the tv accidentally...or on purpose. Just can't live without 'em though, can we?
My cable TV provider has a default-channel setting for when upgrades cause a system reboot or the weather causes the network to go offline. They also provide a method for me to choose my own default channel.
I would assume that somewhere in the fine print there is a way for you to select your own default channel.

Had an "Outer Limits" moment, eh?
Does you cable box allow you to select a power-on default channel?
It'll be in one'a 'em menu set-up thingies.
No Doug, FiOS doesn't have that option, but if it did do you thing my wake up would be CNN?
I ain't sayin' you were the one who set it. You have a mole... or the moonbat who works the midnight shift at your local cable company found the ResetDefaultPowerOnChannel command.
