Ipod

House Democrats, Jr.

The title of this  The Detroit News Editorial is

An iPod for every kid? Are they !#$!ing idiots?

The thing about this editorial rant is that there's is not a single soul in the United States who, withoiut knowing any details, will not understand that Democrats are behind this.  And, they'd be right.

We have come to the conclusion that the crisis Michigan faces is not a shortage of revenue, but an excess of idiocy. Facing a budget deficit that has passed the $1 billion mark, House Democrats Thursday offered a spending plan that would buy a MP3 player or iPod for every school child in Michigan.

No cost estimate was attached to their hare-brained idea to "invest" in education. Details, we are promised, will follow.

The Democrats, led by their increasingly erratic speaker Andy Dillon of Redford Township, also pledge $100 million to make better downtowns.

Their plan goes beyond cluelessness. Democrats are either entirely indifferent to the idea that extreme hard times demand extreme belt tightening, or they are bone stupid. We lean toward the latter.

I'll remain silent about those MFCS !#$!ing idiots.

And are the biggest idiots the ones who put these MFCS's in power. What the heck. When the state goes completely bankrupt, they can look to 'washington' to bail them out.

These are the same idiots that are proposing raising the state subsidy per student to up to $12,000 thinking that will raise the students' pathetic scores on standardized tests. Maybe the ipods can be used to record the singing and chanting during the National Education Association's many authorized teacher strikes in the state for more money and benefits in recognition of the great job they are doing.

And I moved here from Maryland voluntarily?

Unfortunately, the union thugs and progressives in the southeast corner of the state have the political muscle to almost control state politics. The faster the car industry collapses in our fair state, the better off we'll be politically. Michigan is somewhat lucky in that our government is usually divided, unlike Maryland's. The Ipod proposal's chances of passing are slim to none. However, it just shows that the politicos aren't really serious about meaningful budget cuts.

JMcD, hi, thanks for the response. I still can't get my posts to post in the open on the page like Rodgers though. Oh well, it's mostly a spot where I can put pics I play with(I use CorelDraw & Photopaint for a living) So I figure maybe Rodger or someone else here might find a use for one every now & then. Thanks again!

on a Conservative message board, having posted this, i watched a lib try to steer the issue, by mentioning the Press account that the one Republican might bow to higher taxation.

it was a riot, the Democrats offer communist crap, taking money from everyone else to buy what they think is needed for everyone else (why not gold rings for everyone!), and some lib, trying to get conservatives to focus attention away from the pathetic Democrats by some distraction of the one Republican!

even though the Republican is clearly against this folly of the ipods.

the question is, will Conservative be swayed and undermined for supporting those who aren't the problem?

i hope for our future, the answer is no...

after the 90s, i thought we would never be fooled again, but last NOV 2006, it seems some were...

The reason for 2006 is simple the republican leadership forgot who elected them and went nuts with this insane amnasty crap for illegal aliens violating our laws.

Next they will have to raise taxes to provide the proper amount of bling fo each stutent

Microsoft leaked this to the press after their new Ipod substitute, Zine, was turned down. The educational value of Zine over IPod was clear cut. Zine has an exclusive with both Maxim and Playboy plus a deal with several recording companies in Russia that bootleg all the good stuff. No, it wasn't the Democrats. It was the goddam communists, stupid. Don't you know nothin'?

best wishes Jack...

just a note of a differing view, it was actually the Republicans in the HOUSE who stopped the major immigration reform that would allow illegals hiding in the USA to get a chance for US Citizenship after 11 years, paying a few grand, learning english, finishing other courses, etc., etc...

(which also called for major border defense items, a needed reform for guest workers, etc.)

i didn't like the bill, but it was Republicans who stopped it, prior to Nov. 2006.

but by not protecting their Majority in the House, the Democrats aren't even going to follow up on the Republicans past bill calling for 700 miles of new fencing on the Southern border.

in effect, those wanting strong immigration border improvements, who rejected the other reforms, until the border was to be deemed 'sealed', actually empowered the exact opposite by letting the Democrats take control of Congress.

they empowered the Democrats who spoke of building ladders a foot higher, than any fence we build on the border, so illegals can climb over...

by not supporting the GOP in the NOV. 2006 election, they basically opened the door for doing nothing, and letting Democrats give more rights to illegals, voting privileges to felons, raising taxation, massive spending increases, reparations hearings, Plame-Gore showing up before Congress, surrendering in the GWOT, wasting our money to investigate GW, etc., etc...

the proof in the pudding is what we are seeing.

did not voting to keep the GOP in the Majority help the Conservative Agenda?

hell no...

Michigan. Democrats.

Speaking as someone who had student tickets to Ohio State home football games for eight seasons, this confirms all my prejudices.

I agree it did not help I just understand what happened. I got out and voted for Corker Alexander and John Duncan all strong Republicans.I just understand why many did not out of disgust had I been in a position to I would have advised them to go to the polls and vote. But we cannot let the office holders that turned there backs on the people that elected them off the hook either. They need to be held accountable.
