Oprah troop support

“We support our troops”

As is often our custom MoSup played her TiVO'd Oprah while we supped. Today's theme was real life heroes. A mom who threw herself over her two kids while a tornado ripped through their home. A guy who saved a woman from drowning. At the end a bunch of our guys fresh home from Iraq. Her introduction was "no matter what you think about the war, we support our troops."

Those words raise dander every time I hear them. It's meaningless horse crap. No, it's not meaningless, come to think. What Oprah said, even though she may have been mindlessly sincere, is Left-speak for "we think President Bush stole his office and we hate his guts and hope everything he does goes bad, but we learned from Vietnam to pretend to appreciate your efforts even though we stump for Democrats who are even now betraying you by playing the Jesse Jackson game of diplomacy with our sworn enemy in return for small favors that put the Administration in a bad light, and using your funding in a game of chicken." That's the code. That's their level of support.

"Wow, you're all so clean," she gushed. "We keep hearing about how deprived of soap and stuff y'all are over there."

I prayed that one of them would pipe up, "Oprah, everything you learn from your media pals is put through a spin cycle. You don't know squat."

Pass the spaghetti. Grrrr.

Hear! Hear! And high-five to your liberal translation speak, Rodger. Makes it tough to dine and digest whilst watchin' Opree doesn't it?
I'll guess you're wife cherishes you for such tolerant kindness. My husband? Prolly go watch sports on a different 'set. And that's just for my Law and Order/CSI re-runs!;-)

One of 'em should've piped back like a Congressman and told Oprah that she sure seemed like a clean and articulate black woman.

Just kidding...that would be wrong.

Montel: We support our troops, as long as they complain on cue. Otherwise, we'll just edit them right out.

They do not support the troops I remember being one of the troops. I remember what it felt like while I was in DongHa just back from the laotian border for 24 hours and back again and reading a newspaper that someone had got from the states or the Stars & Strips about the democraps McGovern and Fonda and hayden and the Golden boy of the left wing thugs John Kerry and dozens more. i remember how down i felt I grew up believing that we would be all together fighting the enemy like we were in WW2. I knew what the comunist had in mind for the world my grandfather and father and some other very wise people explained it to me tears before.

I cannot tell you what a let down it was to learn that other Americans wished us ill will and were pulling for people that had just murdered 600 Civilians and buried them in a shallow grave just outside of Hue. I hated them Fonda was a disapointment. Soldiers were not cool then and if you were not a dope smoking nasty assed hippie then you were not in the in crowd. Everyone that flashed a peace sign at me I gave them the finger. Was I bitter yes. I guess I am still angery to some degree but Imainly get angry when I think the democraps and the left might get away with screwing over these young men and women that are putting it all on the line while Pelosie sucks Assads murderous ass with the blood of Americans and Jews both all over his hands. Father forgive me

Jack Hamilton you are right. Them Dems don't support the troops. I'm not convinced they support the country, period. You put your life on the line for America and it sounds like you still do because you still care. Thank you for serving then and now. I'd welcome you home but of course you never really left us. The Democrats have left us. Father forgive them because I can not.

ughhhh...

i love those old Mad TV satires on Oprah...

outstanding translation by Mr. S, of the the old liberal con.

maybe Oprah, will help out this Nation unwittingly, by encouraging an Obama defeat of the Clinton Nightmare in the DNC Primary.

of course, she could help him on to the POTUS, but having the Clintons out of the game would be downright HILL-ARIOUS.

My apologies for the poorly crafted message above I guess I was still angrier than I realized. Anon @12:20 made a very good point myself and two and a half million other Americans never left. It was the Democrats that left and now the children of the Greatest Generation which turned out for many to be the worst generation which I am deeply ashamed of are at it again. The baby boomers of the old hippies are today’s democrappers trying to stick to the troops again.

Jack let me say once again, nobody needs to apologize for heartfelt, and entirely lucid observations, like yours, because of typos, or misplaced commas. It's the content we respect. Ideas are everything, not impeccable grammar.

Jack I love your comments, because as Rodger pointed out, they are lucid, from the heart, and I think very eloquent in your special way. Don't change a thing or sweat the small change. I love you brother, just the way you are.

I appreciate those kind words but I really can do better than that. I just get worked up about somethings and I cannot type worth a crap.
