I want to move someplace where I'd be called the town Liberal. |

What is the deal with East Tennesee, anyway jack hamilton???
As we recently went on a "home for a bunny" search to escape CA, we returned more confused. TX is looking promising. But is there really a place in America that one can find less stuck-on-stupid and less taxed. Eh? Not just beauty. - 4/17/07, 1:34 PM

Rodger,
Jack's right. East Tennessee is still one of the greatest, final bastions of conservatism in the country. I grew up there, my family still lives there and, aside from the scenic beauty of being in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, it's still a place where a man's home is his castle and the entire Bill of Rights is honored. Try to take guns away from the Scotch-Irish/Cherokee of East Tennessee and you've got a war on your hands.
BTW, Tennesse still has no state income tax.
Jack,
Are you related to any of the Hamilton's in Tellico Plains?

Hey, my Dad lives in the Knoxville area and says the same thing. I'm going to go there this fall. If it's as beautiful as it looks in pictures I just might have to move there. So far the best I've found is Idaho.
