MoSup gave me a subscription to Cuisine at Home for Christmas, and I just recently began paying attention to it (I'm spoiled). Wow, what a great resource.  Last night I made BLT Pasta.  At first bite we both had the same comment - "It's Good."  Then we started saying, "This is really good."  By the time we'd finished we were saying "This is the best MFS I've ever had!", or to that effect in MoSup's case.  I did make a few adjustments to the recipe.
  1. I used 8 slices of bacon cut into 1½ inch strips
  2. Didn't have leeks, so used onion
  3. Didn't have grape tomatoes, so subbed one large tomato diced big
  4. Didn't have fresh spinach, so added some frozen and heated during the deglazing step.
Next time we make it I'll likely skip the bread crumbs in lieu of  a little grated Parmesan cheese.  The red pepper flakes are crucial though.

Wasn't it 8,..yeh yeh that's it, it was on the eighth day that God invented pasta. It was sooo good He was gonna keep it for Himself, but after He threw the kids oughta the park,he decided to share....They showed their appreciation by erecting a couple of bustling cities..Sodom & Gommorah.....Pasta leads to sin and debauchery?...So wha'd you kids do last night Rodge.

I used to use flavored bread crumbs over a pasta dish that I liked quite well.It was a few sardines mashed and fried in olive oil..adding marinara sauce and red pepper flakes and a little cumin, served of vermicelli and sprinkled with the bread crumbs...I liked it. probably an acquired taste.
