Bogey Man, or Strawman?

“ Professors Hold 'Unfavorable' View of Evangelicals (CNSNews.com) - A majority of American university faculty members view evangelical Christians unfavorably and would like to see the influence of "Christian fundamentalists" on American politics lessened, ” Since Ronald Reagan won the presidency in 1980, the left's animus towards religion has hardened.  It was the "Moral Majority" thing that did it.  I've had this question ever since, even asked it a few times.  Just what is it that American university faculty members (in their surrogate role for the religious left) fear that "Evangelicals" will do?  And, who are "Evangelicals?"  Am I one?  Is the Pope one?  Off the top of my head here's a list of things Pat Robertson (he is an Evangelical, I take it) might do if he was King. Overturn Roe-Wade Ban the sale of pornography Foster the notion that homosexuality is a sin and can be "cured"' Allow Creationism to be taught alongside Darwinism Allow school prayer Have Hugo Chavez assassinated (Your Turn) By the way, this in no way implies that I hold a position one way or another on any of these issues.  I'm just asking, if all of these things were suddenly implemented what would we have?  Besides our nation until 1960?   There is nothing on the "Evangelical" agenda that I'm aware of that would come close to making this country a theocracy, or hell on earth  Elucidate me, please.
