Alien Gummint

You -  shut your pie hole!
Here's the scary part about what happened in the Senate yesterday.  In a time when Americans are split down the middle over anything ... ANYTHING ... the specter of illegal alien amnesty has coalesced us into a solid block of people who hate the very idea of rewarding 12-20 million lawbreakers with permanent resident status. Hate it!  Even in the face of this very vocal majority, our elected representatives acted by turning off their phones, shutting down their E-mail, and voting yesterday against our expressed wishes, treating us like so many naughty children who don't know what's good for us.  If they do it again on Thursday's scheduled cloture vote, this fiasco will have passed the Senate.  Whose senate is this?  Hell, whose country is it?  And yes, I can easily draw a straight line from that to  this.

What I have found surprising is that both Republicans AND Democrats despise the amnesty bill in near equal numbers (see, Bush is a UNITER not a divider), yet ony the Republicans are expressing outrage.

You are correct, and I'm not being a smart ass here, but the reason may be that democrats are waiting for the choreographer . :)
