Union Thugs Lose

The Hug-A-Thug Bill
Only Democrats could pass legislation that eliminates the secret ballot and call it a return to the American Way.  Here's what happened to it in the Senate yesterday. [From the W$J - "Card Checkmate']

“Democrats did their duty for the AFL-CIO yesterday, offering and then quickly losing a vote on the Senate floor to eliminate secret ballots for union organizing elections. Democrats could muster only a single Republican vote -- Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania -- and so the bill went down to a GOP filibuster, 51-48. ”

I sat here a moment and ran through the list of Republican senators in my mind and correctly picked the ratbastard who went along.

Wasn't it Pat Toomey that wanted to challenge him and President Bush came down 4square for this asshat?

Toomey narrowly lost the primary against Sphincter after Bush pulled out all the stops to squash Toomey, an act I deplored then and hate more and more every day.

Bush wasn't alone.
Our FORMER senator, Rick Santorum, also helped squash Toomey by actively supporting the RINO.
I believe that Santorum got what he deserved. He is no longer our senator.

I didn't know that about Santorum. No one is perfect is about all I can say. Santorum was my favorite senator

Santorum yielded to White House pressure and went against his better judgment in backing Sphincter. It's a shame, but I think it cost him his seat. In fact if you look at it, Bush went with moderates over conservatives almost every time, and he never won.
