I'd vote for Fred in a minute. I think it'll shake out as a Rudy/Fred ticket, which I'd love to see the Dems beat. Clinton and Obama hate each other at this point, so the dream ticket probably ain't happening.
Rudy is no less a manchurian candidate than Bush is / was.
Rudy's law firm is the lead and the only law firm representing the leasing rights of the Mexico to Canada Highway. His firm is a champion of the Security Prosperity Partnership (SPP).
This means he is supporting foriegn companies (particurly Cintra) in stealing land under eminant domain.
He is another stealth open borders candidate and NOTHING has been said or brought up about this.
RUDY is an enemy of free US Citizens and NOT QUALIFIED based on his selling off of US Sovereignty.
He can not be trusted with the borders.
Where is the outrage? Where is the disclosure
Fight islam Now
I agree with you, Rodge.
The Dems are truly terrified of Fred.
He lacks the pampered polish of their candidates, he can frankly speak his mind without first clearing his thoughts with consultants, he speaks English and not sound bites, and he is more real and believable than Hillary, Obama and Edwards.
Thus, we see the continued gratuitous hit pieces on the part of the media.
While we are looking so closely at legal careers, let's also look at those of Hillary, Edwards and Guiliani.
And, for that matter, Fred has had a stellar legal career.
And isn't he awful, as a defense lawyer, to advise his client to take the Fifth?
Ridiculous.
There's laundry list of ugliness with his campaign advisor, Spencer Abraham. michellemalkin.com/2007/07/26/fred-thompson-and-spencer-abraham-bad-combo/ and debbieschlussel.com/archives/2007/07/jihad_fred_fred.html
First of all, whomever gets the nod gets my time, money and wholehearted support. Even(gasp) McCain, which ain't gonna happen.
Without a vigorous offense, on all fronts, on Islamofascism, nothing else is going to matter. None of our hot button issues compares to damage that unchecked fanatacism will do to this country. Yep, even the waves of illegals can not kill this country like the terrorists would and will if they aren't stopped.
Fred's hire of Abraham yesterday was a really bad sign. I can't imagine WTF went through his mind to hire this man, in CAIR's back pocket, an Israeli basher and fervent Palestinian supporter, other than an attempt to pander to such an insignificantly small slice of American muslims, that I have to question his judgement.
Rudy, OTOH is putting together an awesome team of advisors including Norman Podhoretz, who has flat out said there is gong to be a military confrontation with Iran and Ben Chouake, director of NORPAC. These guys are heavy weights and their inclusion on Rudy's team speaks volumes.
And this tease dancing that Fred is doing is starting to wear thin. C'mon Fred, the game is a foot, let's hear your rap.

Fred did not hire abraham to formulate his view on terrorism and the death cult he has already made that well known. we could not have a better person to fight against the death cult than fred. Rudy cannot be trusted. He is to much of a democrat.
Why hire him at all Jack? And just what makes you say that Fred is the best person to lead the fight against the Islamofascists? Got links? Don't you believe actions speak louder than words? Compare the hires of Rudy and Fred. Podhoetz vs. Abraham. Give me a break.
I have an open mind, I'm not happy with some of the positions Rudy has taken. At least he's out there. A few weeks ago it was (mis)reported that Rudy is in favor of the current tax system. Rudy got wind and clearly explained his position.
Fred dropped this bomb yesterday and I can't find anything as far as his reasoning. All I'm saying is, c'mon Fred, lets hear all the good reasons why you have hired as your campaign manager, a man that has lobbied for our enemies and against our ally.

Yes and Thompson has taken couragous actions in his career and put his whole lively hood and career in peril to do the right thing. I have known the man many years and he has stated over and over again his thoughts and beliefs on the terrorist as well as the border which is really more dangerous to this country right now. Rudy is just another Arlen Specter. He is for damned open borders , he is for homosexual marriage. He is for gun control. I can keep going but it would be futile. A Rudy as standard bearer for the GOP puts Hillary in the Whitehouse. The base will not vote for the bastard no matter what you say. As for Thompson hiring Abraham right now it means nothing. Thompson will be tough as nails on the Islamo I I know he would not hesitate to hit the nuke button on the bastards if he had to. Also anyone that woulf trust Rudy to appoint conservative judges are making a bad mistake. Though not a fan of Abraham to try and say he supports terrorist in some way is just crap.I did not agree with everything my idol Ranaldus Magnus did but at least he was no RINO like Rudy. The same with Fred he is a Reagan conservative.
Jack, I'm a devil's advocate on this. I like Fred, yet when I ask you to explain what I consider to be a bone headed move, you attack Rudy. Whom in the same context has hired what you might call hawks in their attitudes about what needs to be done in the middle east not a lobbyist in the pocket of the arabs.
All the dumping in the world on Rudy does not help me understand why Abraham was hired to have anyting to do with Fred's campaign. And I still have yet to see a statement from his campaign concerning this.
When a canidate flat out, make no mistake about it, says something, as in the case of Rudy saying he will pick judges ala Roberts and Alito and you call him a liar, well, than your mind is closed. I don't believe democrats, I have seen them lie countless times. I haven't caught Rudy in a lie so I think it's unfair to engage in character assassination.
Finally, your constant last refuge that the "base" will not turn out for Rudy is called projection. Just because YOU won't doesn't mean large numbers of conservatives won't. Rudy leads HRC in critical purple states and though I hate citing polls this early, Rudy is still ahead. He's even brought into play several blue states. It's early but the hardcore "base" that would sit on their hands and let a HRC become president apparently are being more than compensated by indepenents that like Rudy.

Quote from the WaPo article:
"During his 1994 Senate campaign, Thompson ran on a staunch anti-crime platform that called for keeping repeat offenders in prison, enforcing the death penalty, abolishing parole and getting tough on juvenile offenders.
But earlier in his life, Thompson challenged the right of government to compel testimony or search property, according to a review of hundreds of pages of court filings, transcripts and contemporaneous news accounts."
WaPo sees this as hypocracy because they think "tough on crime" always means more power for law enforcement and less civil rights for The People. "Tough on crime" doesn't mean you support violations of the Constitution. Notice in the first statement all the measures he supported were about getting tough on convicted criminals and those he opposed are about the accused.
If this is the best they've got they're in deep trouble. More than that, it shows how stupid they think we are. I don't like his opposition of tort reform, but at least it's at the Fed level and he's softer on changes at the state level.
