This is one of those things I've thought about a hundred times, but never got around to going past that.  Like, how is it that Sen. Tim Johnson can be absent from the Senate since his stroke last year, and still cast the deciding vote that allows democrats to organize the senate?  Without Timmy - and correct me if I'm wrong - the Senate breaks down to 50 Democrats and 49 Republicans.  With the Vice President's vote, that means a 50-50 tie.  Who says Harry Reid is majority leader?  I know there's an answer, but that's not what this is about. I keep reading all these stories about how Sen. Timmah is back to 100%. “ "To look at Tim now, you'd never know anything serious had happened to him," said former Sen. Tom Daschle. "Talking to him, you don't have trouble understanding him, and mentally, he's at 110 percent. He's as sharp as ever."  - Sioux City Journal ” Sorry, make that 110%.  Anyway, Johnson's up for reelection this year, so he'll be needing some running money. Over the weekend I heard that Daschle will hold a fund raiser for Johnson. But not in South Dakota. At Daschle's Washington town house. Timmah will be present in spirit only. 110%? I don't think so Lucy.  In fact, here's what I think.  Timmah is back in Sioux Falls taking his nourishment through tubes, and any money raised will be used by Daschle himself in a bid to recapture his Senate seat.  Bets anyone?
