The highly trafficked "progressive" website DailyKos, which boasts contributors including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is suggesting football star Pat Tillman was murdered in Afghanistan on orders from the White House.

The theory behind the conspiracy? "It was well-known he (Tillman) was against the war in Iraq," explains the DailyKos diarist Dburn.

The blog references an appearance by General Wesley Clark on MSNBC's "Keith Olbermann's Countdown" discussing the latest developments in the story of the athlete killed in Afghanistan, presumably by friendly fire from within his Army Ranger unit.

"Wesley Clark was on and believes the orders came from the very top as Tillman was a political symbol," explains the blog. "No indication if orders were to murder him, but at least to cover it up. I'm not speculating at this point. But I saw in another diary where they claimed executive privilege in the Tillman case. It's starting to look beyond bad." [continued]

Fact: The original story was fabricated, that Tilman was shot by Taliban leading his men.

Easy with multiple shooters. And ~ thirty five years ago (when I was steady and could see well) I won a bet hitting a tomato can lid 5 times at 100 yds. standing with a .44 mag pistol and iron sights.
I've seen guys hit chicken sized targets dozens of times in a row at 200 yds. with pistols. That's exceptional marksmanship I grant you, but if it can be done standing with iron sights and a pistol, then doing that prone with optics and a rifle should be very possible.

Too bad that my impression is that someone clumsily lied about the contents of said diary. The writer never even implied that Clark said orders "to murder" Tillman came from the White House. He said that orders to cover up the circumstances must have come from the top. So, your post is a lie.

Bloody hell ... I can do it easily with a FAL in semi-auto mode ... and have done so ... my last 400 meter shoot ended with a five round 49-XXXX string ... if that had been shot at 100 yards, it would have resulted in one ragged hole and a single round outside the hole but not quite touching it.
