Commies and Nazis

Today's Living History

Anton von Arco-Valley
Anton von Arco-Valley
Rodger,

I don't know if you even recognize my name but I'm one of Sondra's peeps.  Anyway, I was just over at your place and saw the post about Bavaria was a Communist state.  That, of course, takes me to  Anton Graf Arco-Valley, who was my Grandmother's cousin and he was the one who killed Kurt Eisner and let the commies take over by his actions.  Anyway, I'm an Arco-Stepperg.  Anton means something to me because, as my family says, "Anton.....why does it always have to be Anton?"

I've got some history to send you only because the punch line is too delicious to miss.

Thanks for the great blog.

Thank you Stepperg. I am indeed familiar with your Nom du Blog, and found your account most fascinating.  History is always so much easier to digest when you can touch it like this.  I see that Anton and George Patton had something in common. I've archived your story HERE
