Homey don't go that way

Several people have sent me this story about the Dutch Bishop/Allah statement. Here's what I immediately thunk.

I have said repeatedly, although not very much lately, that most liberals I know - and they are many - are extremely decent people whom I love dearly -- outside of politics. They are, however, the political equivalent of Quakers and Amish. That is to say, decent people who, because of strict interpretation of God's law, are left defenseless against enemies, and flourish in this country only at the sufferance of we who are willing to defend their lifestyle. So, Bishop Muskens delivers a nice message, true to Christian ideals, but he is a political nincompoop, at best, who deserves to be ignored here (and 90% of the Dutch have).
