Recycled Supercomputer

 $800,000 Desktop


What would you do when working for a company that was performing na “upgrade” in a client’s super-computer and is about to throw in the scrap yard hundreds of Intel’s Itanium processors?

Matt Tovey made a desktop, with 434 of them.

The most amazing is the the processors were bought at the astonishing price os US$ 800,000.00!

Alright,I'm a greenhorn. Were they wired or just decorative?,I'll assume just decorative considering the amount of power they would draw.

The word "desktop" is being used literally. The Itaniums (Itania?) are cast in plastic to make the top of a desk.
