scream-of-consciousness; "If you're trying to change minds and influence people it's probably not a good idea to say that virtually all elected Democrats are liars, but what the hell."

I'm not up on RI's politics Rog, but they must be pretty bad to edge out New Jersey. As for the number 1 spot, sorry man.

And I hear on the morning radio news that the legislature is going ahead with slot machine legislation that is essentially the same as that proposed by Repub Gov Erlich and was denied simply because he was a Republican.
If slots are good for the state under O'Malley, why was their denial under Erlich good for the state? Thus the legislature was acting against the best interests of the state for a purely political reason.
Does this not bother Maryland Democrats even a little?
Maryland democrats are by definition .. PFS (Pretty Fkng Stupid).
"Does this not bother Maryland Democrats even a little?"
Why do people keep expecting that terminally-amoral sociopaths should have any kind of conscience?
My brother-in-law, a small businessman in Md, tells me stories about his license, tax, regulatory and contractural dealings with the State of Md. The arrogance, nepotism, racism, cronyism, incompetence and hate-the-successful attitude he encounters make me dread the incursion of the Dem/Liberals into Virginia. Northern Virginia has become a mirror image across the river of Baltimore City, Montgomery and Prince George Counties, and the statist cancer is spreading south to Fredericksburg and west to Harpers Ferry.
Stocking ammo here boss.

If one more MFCS with a Hillary '08 sticker on their bumper cuts me off on Rte 4 and Suitland Pkwy in the morning the .45 is going to make the commute with me.
Lt. Col, are you a Western Murrliner? I live in Loudoun County. Maybe we should have a C&S party somewhere around Harper's Ferry.
even their flag is stupid
Sorry, but I think New Jersey beats out Maryland.
Thanks for the splash of cold water. I have adjusted the list. Rhode Island voters are still in the top 10 though.
I think I stumbled across a typical Democrat's page this morning and therein I learned all about some complete bullshit called "Reiki healing."
If you're interested in getting peak inside the (weak) mind of a Reiki true believer... check this out: http://alxindia.blogspot.com/2004/08/healing-quest-that-took-me-by-surprise.html#comments
It's all there: Massage therapy, meditation, "breathing healing", Burning Man, bohemian villages of misfits, cat-lady... everything except the scent of patcholi oil!
In particular, I love this quote:
"Finally, I quit my work as a freelance technical writer and journalist in the field of computer games (www.demaria.com), and set up shop as a healer. I was a Reiki master, I had been through a lot of breathwork, I was a good massage therapist, I was meditating a lot, and I just knew it was time to start helping people full-time. so I did. the next thing I knew, I had a full-on business, taking care of Silicon Valley types, teaching them about chakras and breath and the human energy system and healing"
There's a sucker born every minute! Reminds be of the Penn & Teller Bullshit episode where they opened a Water Restaurant and sold tap water through a garden hose for $10 a glass!
Marylands flag is composed of parts of the family crests of Lord Baltimore and Calvert, who recieved the land grants to establish the colony
Blogdog- nice to come across a fellow Virginian. I'm in Richmond, but also have family in Baltimore, Frederick, Cambridge MD. I well remember when both Balto and Frederick Loudoun County had gorgeous rolling farmlands and small towns everywhere, and a Sunday drive was a joy. The first two have become franchise and McMansionville, Loudoun isn't far behind, IMHO.
All the same, I love the area around Harpers Ferry, and that would make a nice day trip when the weather cools. I haven't been to Sharpsburg or Harper's Ferry in 30+ years. A C&S meet and greet would be fun.

The flag is one of the things I actually like here.
Besides that? The Bay. It's a personal thing to all Marylanders.
I'm a lifelong Republican with a libertarian streak, but if I ever caught someone dumping motor oil or antifreeze into a creek, I'd punch them unconscious. Seriously. That's what the Bay means to us.
I like a few other things: Schaeffer (the only good democrat that ever lived besides Zell Miller), the state college system (not free, but good, and mostly funded by well-meaning liberals), and lots of WMA's to hunt in.
Still, once I get my degree, I'm selling my condo and moving to Kentucky.
