Our sovereignty and the American trucker have been sold down the road by a bunch of assclown politicians.
For once in my life I actually find myself in agreement with Jimmy Hoffa Jr. Following that same logic, maybe the Huffington Post was onto something when they were suggesting a military coup. Sheesh!
All is not completely bleak. The Mexican truck drivers are suppose to pass a "reads English" test before they can drive here. It's not enforced near the boarder but I hear they are stopping and testing Mexican truck drivers who stray from a boarder zone.
Uh, huh. Another industry ready to be destroyed.
You see, American truckers have to keep a log of their miles, rest for a certain # of hours per shift, keep an incredible amount of insurance, be trained and certified by a real driving school, pass regular drug screenings, no tickets, etc. In return for driving a hundred thousand miles+ a year, you can earn around $40k to $80.
Mexican truckers don't have the same requirements.
Just wait 'till some Mexi hopped up on speed creams a family or two in their minivan and high-tails it back across the border. Besides, what are those trucks full of? Produce that has been shit on by the field workers in an attempt to sicken the Gringo? (yes, that happens... it's the source of all those disease outbreaks this year). I'm guessing more than one semi will be caught loaded full of illegals on their way to Welfareville, USA.
IMO Bush is right behind Carter for "worst President, ever." He has completely sold us out.
So how long before American companies "outsource" their trucking/transport needs to these new companies driving up from Mexico and willing to work for 1/2 the rate?
First it was manufacturing, then steel, then autos, then software, now truckers... Watch and see. Truckers, your days are numbered.
As a trucker, this makes me sick.
Ever notice the help wanted signs on the back of all them big rig trailers?
Well wages are starting to rise for the American Trucker (as well as they should) it's a supply and demand thing.
But now here comes Bush, and his open border idiocy thats going to destroy the gains that the American trucker has made over the past years.
Trucking will soon be a job that Americans “Refuse to do”.
Screw Bush, I rue the day that I voted for that idiot.
I watched this worm its way through, and didn't see or hear a peep from the trucker unions. Wonder why.
If you listen close: you can still hear the knives of the union bosses tearing through the throats of their members.
MooPoo
What are you complaining about, Bush is the best president Mexico has ever had.
Boazo
Trucks with Mexican plates should be having an unusually high number of blown tires and mechanical breakdowns, possibly related to improper chemicals getting into fuel and oil systems. I'm just sayin'.
Would be nice if truck stops refused to sell them fuel. This would cause somebody to try to pass legislation making it illegal to do that, and that might make enough noise wake people up.

Ummmm, Rodge---that would be a YES!
