German drivers: either rigidly obedient or wild a** crazy- A German friend, an Olympic soccer star turned pub owner, used to just stare down everyone at any intersection he came to and sail on through- his "Panzer Wagon" Mercedes ended up getting torched one night.
(When he say it his response: Turkish!)

The Loonie (1 cad dollar) dropped back, it is now trading close to 99 cents. Does the fact that the US dollar has dropped so significantly bother you guys?
I've perused some other blogs regarding finance and there is commentary, some of it paranoid some of it reasonable, I just wonder if it really registers with the American public generally, and is it a big deal?
For me anyways, it is hard on our business, being in transportation we rely on exports to reach the US marketplace, this has really slowed to the point that we have had to send trucks empty South so that we can reload for Imports back to Canada ( a sector that has been booming for the past 2 to 3 years).
Some economist say a weak US dollar is actually good for the economy. Makes US goods cheaper overseas, and imports cost higher in the US homeland.
At least thats what my economics professor told us ;)
Yeah I've noticed the Canadian dollar has risen steadily - especially since Steven Harper was elected. We have vacationed there several times in the last few years but it's just gotten too expensive. Another benefit to our economy is all the Canucks vacationing down here.

My "progressive" friends claim that it is part of the Bush Plan but on the other hand they maintain the President is a dolt. A dim witted hick clever enough to outsmart the Smartest Woman im America. I am getting a headache...

There's good and bad to a weaker dollar. On one hand, we'll have to pay a penny more for our lead-filled toys.
Oh the other hand, Airbus is even closer to bankruptcy. Boeing is writing contracts as fast as they can.
Allow me to correct myself. The Chinese yuan is tied to the dollar. Toys won't go up in price. This is, however, added impetus to let their currency float, which we've been advocating for years.
I have been selling RV's for the past twenty years. In that time I had never sold to Canadians. This year, I have sold four to our northern neighbors plus one to a Brit. Good old American built motor homes and travel trailers exported to Canada. It is a good thing.

Chuck, I repair RV's in Fife.Small world?
Boazo
Chuck, Boazo, I want to live in an RV. Then the world will be smaller. At least mine.
