Ironically, or maybe not, Kurt Vonnegut was typically liberal - brilliant but stupid. He saw this kind of media manipulation as a Rightwing threat.
That's because the Nazi's were portrayed as a Rightwing group by the Left.
Sure, it was a National party. Sure, it was a Socialist party. Today's Lefty says, "Nothing to see here, move along."
I bridle when I hear Nazi's compared to "The Right". What does the Right stand for? Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the rule of law, the rights of man and the idea that I can do more for me than any government can. What threat can be generated from the "Right"?
