Canadians -- Sheesh

Laws of Nature

By their actions, it's fair to conclude that liberals have more respect for the intellect of lower species than of humans, wouldn't you agree?   I'm not going to argue the point.  Putting aside so obvious a law of nature as survival of the fittest, other animal species destroy weak, defective offspring at birth, whereas, and quite obviously ... .

Since 1934, anyone wanting to own a pistol in Canada has had to be registered with the RCMP or the federal gun registry. The application process is long and arduous. The fact that almost no registered handgun owner ever commits murder or other forms of violent crime in Canada (one of the recent Toronto shootings being a noteworthy exception) is a testament to the thoroughness of the background checks.

On top of that, since the early 1990s, Canada's 500,000 or so handgun owners have had to have police approval to move their guns from their homes, and even then may only move them under the strictest of conditions. Typically, owners must lock their guns in a tamper-resistant case, which must further be locked in the trunks of their cars. Then they must drive directly from their homes to an approved shooting range and back, making no stops along the way -- even for gas or a restroom break.

Now Toronto Mayor David Miller and the federal NDP have called for a ban on all handguns in Canada. ["Handgun bans don't work" cont]

The author cites the almost hackneyed result of such foolishness.   "Murders committed with firearms, handguns are now used in nearly two-thirds. That's up from just one-third less than 20 years ago."  Can you spell C-A-T?

Our pack is vulnerable because we've allowed these "enthusiasts" without apparent ability to learn, to  govern us.   Which, ironically, is why we must have those guns. Click-click.

I remember the first time we visited Canada in '03 as we crossed the border the female crossing guard asked if we had any guns. When we told her 'No' she replied, 'Really?? I thought everyone in Virginia carried guns.'

i just got my first handgun... partly out of a desire to say "screw you" to the leftists infesting my country (and because guns are so much fun!). it was a long process - and i have to have my registration cert, gun license and a "authorization to transport" just to drive to the range to shoot it. and the easterners still think that's too dangerous.

p.s. if it's not too much trouble, when the Seattle Express finally flies, any chance Toronto can be next? it's not like they can defend themselves!
