There's a lot of sentiment on this page to "save" Hillary"
because she can be defeated by John McCain, whereas Obama-Rama presents
a more difficult challenge. I can't entirely refute that line of
thinking, but it reminds me immediately of similar intrigue. In
1933 German businessmen prevailed upon President Paul von Hindenburg to
appoint Adolf Hitler Chancellor, because, they stated, "we can control
him there." They were dealing with the devil, however, and we are
too.
Obama-Rama's ascent to the White House will not be an easy one, in any event. There are a thousand of these "Muslim" stories out there, not to mention his rather odd "church," and his bizarre ideas about dealing with fascist Islam will unsettle many. In addition, there's the race issue. No, I don't mean white/black, although there will always be some of that. I'm talking the Black/Hispanic/Asian animus that bubbles below the surface in our society. Hillary's strength, and Obama's weakness, has come in the coastal areas with a large Hispanic population. He'll have the same problem in a general election. Oprah, or no, Obama will have a hell of a time of it. At any rate, I urge people not to vote for Sen. Clinton because they think she can be "controlled." "Killing" her while we have the opportunity is the prudent thing. |
